Payroll Software Product Owner.
The Role
This is a varied role in a cloud payroll software business which has several accounting intermediary customers, all focused on the temporary labour and Umbrella market.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, co-ordinating with internal and external stakeholders in the UK, the development teams in India and authoring and maintaining User stories as well as software implementation plans and user documentation. You will be responsible for a strand of the product roadmap, designing solutions and managing the developers workload to deliver features which will be rolled out across the My Digital customer base.
With a methodical approach to problem solving you will play a leading role in analysing user requirements from customers, colleagues and legislative changes - drawing on your experience of My Digital. You will be able to readily articulate our USPs, drawing on comparisons with our competitors.
Principal Responsibilities will be to assist in managing our Development Scrum Teams in India and providing support for our customer service teams from time to time:
• Forming and maintaining strong relationships with our India based development team
• Dealing with complex technical finance queries and challenges
• Determining development priorities and managing stakeholder expectations
• An internal expert in complex finance matters
• Ability to create and edit Development Epics and build the business case
This is a hands on and varied role in a fast growing software business. The role will be demanding and will suit an ambitious, career focused individual who is keen to learn and determined to progress.
You will:
• Be a qualified accountant or QBE (or qualified by experience) in an Umbrella/PSC accounting environment
• be experienced in operating in the temporary labour market as a PSC accountant
• be gregarious with an appetite for constructing relationships. Experienced and confident in engaging with customers – zest for dealing with people

• Knowledge of accounting and taxation principles
• Ability to identify and assess risks, problems and issues
• Curiosity into technology and streamlining of existing business processes
Desirable
• Knowledge of the contractor and temporary worker market – practical experience of payroll and IR35 preferred
• Experience delivering business software
• Knowledge of Just Accounts software would be an advantage
• Experienced at using Freeagent and Xero
• Experience of agile methodology and software development principles
