The Client

My client is a very successful engineering company with a long history delivering pioneering services in many different regions. They specialise in their own niche market.

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be required to commission, calibrate, service, fault find, and repair of a range of electronic and mechanical process control instrumentation.

• To liaise with the service coordinators to ensure that all spares, tools and paperwork is available to enable them to carry out their duties.
• To liaise with customers when required prior to executing the job to ensure full understanding of the nature of the job and also to advise estimated time of arrival and of any delays which may be anticipated.
• To adhere to site safety rules, permit to work systems and carry out risk assessments.
• To work to local and industry procedures and to comply with industry codes of practice and company quality management system.
• To provide timely and accurate job reporting in accordance with company service report forms.
• Occasional overnight stays.

The Candidate

• Ideally be qualified to ONC/HNC level preferably in electronics or instrumentation of control.
• Ideally will have completed a relevant Instrumentation / Process Control apprenticeship
• Recently commissioned, calibrated, service / fault-find and repair of a range of electronic and mechanical process control instrumentation.
• Problem solving and diagnostic skills.
• To be highly self-motivated and have the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• A flexible approach to working activities 
• Excellent Communication skills, both verbally and written.
• The Ability to develop good working relationships with customers.
• Good organisational skills, excellent punctuality and timekeeping.
• Full clean driving licence.
